(April) Easter egg Appeal 2011

Our Funeral office at Waltham Abbey, The Abbey Independent Funeral Directors Ltd, have collected over 50 Easter eggs in aid of children whose lives are being affected by domestic violence.

These children and their mothers have had to leave their home and move to a refuge for protection, often with very few possessions and a long way from their friends, school and familiar surroundings.

We know how much the Easter eggs received from our clients and public will be appreciated by these children who are facing such disruption in their lives.

From experience we know how much the smallest gesture from others can mean to the Children and their mothers.

Funeral Director, Nicola Jarmaine, said: "We have been collecting Easter eggs from a number of clients and public in the
Waltham Abbey area, who have been very generous with their donations.

"Our aim at this time of year is to put a BIG SMILE of appreciation on a Childs face and we would like to thank everyone who kindly donated to our appeal".

Once again, thanks for your support.

Sponsored by Epping Forest District Council's Sports Development team,
Epping Forest Race for Life 2011 is taking place on Wednesday 13th July 2011 at 7pm and for the eighth year running is being held at North Weald Airfield, Hurricane Way, CM16 6AA.

Race For Life is a special event where women and girls complete a 5km or 10km course to raise vital funds towards finding cures for cancer and helping the thousands of people that develop the disease each year.

The race is one of around 280 races being held across the UK and will consist of a single lap of the historic airfield which will be lined by an exciting display of aircraft. As the route is mostly on concrete and completely flat it is suitable for wheelchair participants and offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a fun evening out with family and friends.

Please ensure you arrive one hour before so that you can take part in the warm-up.

The race can be completed in whatever manner participants wish, from a slow walk (with stops if necessary) to a power walk, jog or run and is an ideal chance to meet new friends.

Cancer Research UK is entirely funded by the public and they need your support to continue to make progress and give hope to people affected by cancer.

So why not register today at  http://www.raceforlife.org/  and join our Funeral Director Nicola Jarmaine and colleagues of
The Abbey Independent Funeral Directors Ltd and H L Hawes & Son Ltd Funeral Directors in Epping and walk, jog or run to help beat cancer.
